Amazing Makeup Tips For A Show Stealig Destination Wedding Look
As fun as destination weddings happen to be, they also posit a huge challenge to all the makeup enthusiasts: to bring in your best makeup game amid all the wedding rush, and not to forget the travel fatigue. Let’s face it, whether you’re a bride or just a spectator partaking in the celebrations, travelling mixed with all-nighters and abundant alcohol means a tired-looking face and for a few, there’s also the whole acne situation. This problem is all too real for most women and blogger Suman Kothari is here to give you a few pointers on how you can look fresh and camera-ready in all your pics. Time to say 'I Do' to these beauty tricks.
Do’s and Don’ts
In order to look fresh, there are a few things you need to keep in mind, which, if followed through, will make a big difference. We asked Suman if she’s willing to share her secrets and this is what she had to say, “Prep & prime your skin really well. Use a good moisturizer & keep yourself hydrated. A good facial a week before can also add to the glow.”
Heard that ladies! Prep, Moisturize, Hydrate!
Another tip to keep in mind according to Suman is to arrive a few days before the wedding. This way, you can feel relaxed and look fresh for the big day and it’ll also give your face time to adjust to the climate.
Beach Weddings
In the past few years, there has been a rise in the number of beach weddings, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to stop anytime soon. Crystal blue water & white sand—who wouldn’t want such a beautiful scenic view! It also creates a very aesthetically pleasing wedding album as compared to those generic wedding halls. But just like a line taken out from Murphy’s Law—All good things will always have a downside. While you get the picturesque view, you also get the heat and you’re bound to sweat. So, what do you do in such situations? Well, if you were thinking of layering on waterproof makeup, we would suggest otherwise and so does Suman.
She says, “An all-natural look with blush, some pink lips & fresh eyes for the day is perfect. Heavy foundations can make you look cakey & overdone in the pictures. The harsh sunlight can make your heavy makeup look unflattering. Also, don’t forget to use waterproof eyeliner & mascara.”
Must-Have Makeup Essentials
Whether you’re going to a destination wedding or just for a much-needed vacation, we don’t need to tell you how important it is to carry your makeup. And since it’s always beneficial to travel light, carrying your entire makeup bag is not an option. So, what do you take? Well, Suman has the perfect trick to help you choose the right products and get you out of the product picking dilemma.
She says, “When travelling, it is important to carry your makeup essentials. Picture going on a vacation and finding out you forgot your favourite blush or your trusted eyebrow kit. Whoops!
While packing, I picture myself applying my makeup right away so that I don’t forget anything.
Foundation & concealer - This is your base so you can’t leave that behind at all!” Suman insists, “But if your skin is blemish-free you can just carry any one of them or a BB cream!! Compact/ translucent powder is very useful if you sweat a lot or if you have oily skin.”
Once you’ve perfected the base, here’s what you need to do next, “Carry a waterproof eyeliner you trust and love, try not to experiment with any new products. Kajal, Mascara & an eyebrow kit are just somethings you need!!” reveals Suman. “When it comes to your blush/bronzer/highlighter, a compact kit will make everything so much easier.”
And finally, for your lips, this blogger insists that carrying only a few shades to match your outfits will save you on a lot of space.
While Suman gave us her opinion on what exactly you should do, she also revealed her go-to look. With more than 44k followers on Insta, here’s what she had to say, “My go-to makeup look has always been really simple because it’s quick, easy & yet something which makes me look nice & feel confident. So, I just use sunscreen & apply compact over it. You can surely add a step of concealer depending on how your skin is. I then proceed to use kajal & eyeliner which helps me look awake & blush to add a tint to my face. I love using the Chisel It palette when am in a hurry as that one palette has everything(blush, bronzer, highlighter). The last thing is lipstick and nudes are my fave.”
