While we eagerly wait for 2020 to come to an end, the truth is, we aren’t going to be free from this pandemic once the clock strikes 12. Face masks are still going to be mandatory so it’s no surprise that eye makeup is predicted to dominate the 2021 trend charts. 20-21 winter trends are going to be all about decking up your eyes and showing off that unapologetic glam. From bold hues to tamed brows and even futuristic alternatives, there’s something for everyone. Here’s what you can expect when it comes to 2021's winter makeup trends.
Gold Leaf Eyeshadow
We saw actress Laverne Cox at the American Music Awards last week rock a gold leaf eyeshadow and we’re obsessed. And it’s not just us! According to celebrity artists, gold foil eyeshadow is going to be a hit in 2021 as it’s bold, loud and statement-making even with a mask on.
To embrace this trend, you could either do it the traditional way by sticking on a delicate gold leaf with skin adhesive or you could opt for an eyeshadow that has a gold foil palette. Even though the latter won’t be as dramatic, it will still draw attention to your eyes.
All For Metallics
Go bold or go home seems to be the theme of 2021’s eye makeup trend. Bright purples and metallic gold not only help put a new twist to your holiday makeup glam but also makes you feel good, powerful, and sexy.
One Colour Eyeshadow
Don’t like blending in two hues? Then you will definitely love this trend. The one-colour eyeshadow is all about using one shade that’s a bit deeper than your skin complexion, so not neutral and not too dark either. This eye makeup is all about having fun and experimenting with your look. You could opt for matte shades or even holographic foils to create this stunning eye look.

No matter the year, brows are always in. For 2021 however, it’s going to be all about natural-looking brows that are not too bold and easily frame the face to create a polished look.

Earlier this year, TV show Euphoria created a new path and changed the way we use makeup, and it seems like it’s still going strong for winter 2020-2021. You could either opt for big embellishment on the corners of your eyes or apply tiny studs all across your crease.
