Indulging in a face cleanup at home allows you to deep cleanse your skin, suck out all the impurities, and nourish it thoroughly without causing any damage. Scroll down to see how to clean up the face at home.

How To Do Face Clean Up At Home

Face clean ups are usually done at a salon, but that shouldn’t stop you from carrying it out at home. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to clean up your face at home.

Step 1 - Cleanse

The first step to a face cleanup at home is to cleanse your skin thoroughly with a face cleanser. Use the face wash for about a minute on your face –– make sure you also cleanse your neck. Splash your face with some lukewarm water to remove the product. Ensure that you are washing off all the product from your face –– do not forget the hairline and jawline too.

 Step 2 - Steam

Go ahead and steam your face with a steamer. Make sure you cover your head with a towel, so that the steam settles well into your pores. Do this for 10 minutes. Once you’re done, use a blackhead remover to extract any blackheads and then wipe your face with a soft tissue.

Step 3 - Exfoliate

Use a face scrub to remove the layer of dead skin cells on your face. Massage it gently into your face in circular motions. This’ll add a glow to your skin, brighten it, and allow your other skincare products to penetrate better and work more efficiently.

Step 4 - Face Pack

Apply a face pack of your choice on your face and neck. Make sure that it is moisturising. Go for natural ingredients like haldi, aloe vera, or honey. Leave it on for about 15 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water.

Step 5 - Toner

Pour some toner on a cotton ball or pad and swipe it across your face and neck. You could also apply it on your palms and pat it on your skin. A toner ensures that your skin is brought back to its normal pH level after the face pack.

Step 6 - Sheet Mask

Need a serum that works extra time? Go for a sheet mask. Apply the sheet mask on your face and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Take the mask off and pat the serum into your skin. Wait till it dries and then move on to step number seven.

Step 7 - Moisturiser

Seal in all the goodness from the face clean up with a nourishing moisturiser. A moisturiser makes sure your skin is hydrated and nourished.

Step 8 - Eye Cream

Dab a little eye cream on your under eyes using your ring finger. Tap the product into the skin –– do not rub or tug. Make sure the skin around your eyes are well hydrated, to avoid dark circles and puffiness.

Step 9 - Lip Balm

In this process, do not neglect your pout! Apply a layer of lip balm onto your lips –– this’ll prevent them from getting dry and chapped.

Step 10 - Sunscreen

If you’re doing this clean up in the day, then finish off with sunscreen. A sunscreen helps protect your skin from the harmful effects of UV rays. Skipping this will undo all the good done by the entire routine –– so slather away!
